Local Business Tax Receipt
All businesses are required to have a Local Business Tax Receipt (formerly known as Occupational License) when operating a business within the Town of Pierson. In addition to a Business Tax Receipt from Town of Pierson you must also obtain one from Volusia County. This applies to all businesses including those that are home-based.
Business Tax Receipts are valid from October 1st until September 30th each year.
All new applications need to be accompanied with a copy of at least two of these items listed:
- Driver's License
- Fictitious Name (from Sunbiz.org)
- Corporation Name (from Sunbiz.org)
- General Liability / Workers Compensation Insurance
As of October 1, 2014 the cost for a Local Business Tax Receipt will be $50.00
As a business owner, you are responsible for the renewal of your receipt and the advisement of the termination of the business.
