Sanitation & Recycling

The Town of Pierson contracts with an outside waste management company for solid waste collection and recycling. Residents and businesses within town limits are required to call and set up their own service accounts through GFL Environmental. You will be billed directly by GFL Environmental for service. GFL can be reached at (800) 535-9533.

Garbage collection is once a week with trash bins being provided by GFL. The current garbage pickup day is Tuesday and recycling pickup is Thursday.

Most trash and debris, when properly bundled and/or contained, can be disposed of at curbside with your regular garbage service day.

All Pierson residents in unincorporated Pierson are serviced by Volusia County.

Town of Pierson Dump Sites

Town of Pierson operates two dump sites for residents to use. These are open by appointment only. You must call Pierson Town Center to gain access. Please see the available times for each location below.

• Prohibited items: tires, batteries, major appliances, yard waste, household garbage, medical or septic waste, bottled cylinders, fluorescent light bulbs/tubes

This dump site accepts LIGHT CONSTRUCTION and DRY BULKY ITEMS ONLY.

Call Pierson Town Center at (386) 749-2661 to gain access Tuesday and Friday between the hours of 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.

This dump site accepts BRUSH and VEGETATIVE DEBRIS ONLY.

Call Town Hall at (386) 749-2661 to gain access Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
