New Residential Trash Service with FCC Environmental

The Pierson Town Council recently voted to contract with FCC Environmental for residential trash collection in town. Trash service will be provided to every owner of a residential dwelling and billed annually through a non-ad valorem assessment as part of your property tax bill.

Residential trash collection with FCC will begin Monday, March 2, 2026. Trash and recycling will now be picked up on Mondays.

Tuesday, February 24, 2026 is the final day of residential trash service with GFL Environmental. Residential customers with GFL Environmental should contact GFL to stop any automatic billing or payments that might be in place, and inquire about refunds if you paid in advance beyond March 1, 2026.

The Town's original contract with GFL states that the 96-gallon trash carts remain the property of the Town of Pierson. You may continue to use these carts for the new service.

Be aware that GFL should not collect your cart on their last service day of Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Consider not putting your large cart by the curb to prevent it from being taken away.

Commercial trash service is not included in the new FCC Environmental contract. Commercial entities may choose their own commercial dumpster service and contract with those services directly.
